While these flowers were grown in Egypt I picked up the dried flowers from my local spice shop. Oaktown Spice Shop in Oakland is one of my favorite places to hang out—especially because my clothes smell so good for the rest of the day. Also, the owners John and Erica are such lovely people. The pigment in hibiscus can be unpredictable and creates unexpected colors. I clamped this scarf after a first dip and then put it in washing soda and the pink shifted to blue/purple.
The scarf is made from 8mm Habotai silk and measures about 14 x 70"
Hand wash in pH neutral soap like Ecover or Seventh Generation
